Our Story

A Family Tradition

At the age of 19, Keith Winn (March 14, 1931 – Feb 13, 2018) began his career in construction and development in Saskatchewan, moving his young family and business to BC and settling in Vernon in 1972. He took pride in having his son, Chuck, join him on the job from a very young age. For Chuck, working with his dad meant everything. He began spending his time after school and on weekends learning everything he could about the industry, mastering every skill he could under the mentorship of his father.

At a young age, Chuck started his own construction company. In 1982 with his fathers’ support, he began Winn and Sons. In an extremely tough economy, Chuck began purchasing lots and developing spec homes throughout Vernon and surrounding areas. In a time when mortgage rates were high and margins were low, he stuck with a high standard of quality and workmanship and was able to build a thriving business and a reputation for his hands-on approach and quality guarantee.

In 2008 Chuck shifted his focus towards Commercial Development by starting SilverRock Land Corp. SilverRock focused on purchasing and developing commercial buildings – leasing retail, office and professional space. It quickly became a success, but over time Chuck found himself missing being on the ground working with ‘the people”. So, he made the decision to return to his roots, selling SilverRock in 2019 and relaunching Winn and Sons later that year.
